Mark McGwire admitted to using steroids when he broke the major league home run record in 1998. He said that he used steroids for nearly a decade and that he was remorseful for his actions.

"I wish I had never touched steroids," McGwire said. "It was foolish and it was a mistake. I truly apologize. Looking back, I wish I had never played during the steroid era."
